Supply List & Back to School Deals

What is it about the back to school sales that suck us in? Are you like me? I see piles of glue sticks, colorful sticky notes, and organization items and my heart skips a beat! I'm so tempted to fill up my buggy with all the school supplies!

Before you go filling your cart I wanted to encourage you that you certainly don't have to. My goal for this curriculum was for it to be easy to implement and accessible for any parent. You won't need 6 plastic, pronged folders in multiple colors or 300 index cards. Don't go down to the local teacher supply store and break the bank. Most of what we use will be items you already have around the house. However, there are a few school supplies you may want to grab while the deals are hot. Here is a basic list of things you'll want to pick up:

  • Primary Journal
  • Pencils (regular not the fat/jumbo ones)
  • Crayons (again, regular not fat/jumbo)
  • Safety scissors
  • Glue Sticks (you probably do want a bunch of these)
  • Liquid glue
  • Construction paper
  • Cardstock (white)
  • Washable paint
  • Popsicle sticks
  • Play-doh
  • Tape

That's basically all you'll need to buy! From time to time we'll use items around the house (cotton balls, shaving cream, or string) but I really try to keep things simple and use items most families realistically keep in their home.  ...Now, with all the money I just saved you I think you deserve a nice cup of coffee from that in-house Starbucks at Target. ;) Happy school supply shopping and may the deals be ever in your favor! :)

with love,

Carla
