May 2024 Collection

May is here and so are the brand NEW Learn + PLAY Club activities! May can sort of run either direction- maybe for you it’s super full or maybe like us, everything (music lessons, sports, Bible study) has slowed down or stopped for the Summer. We are finding ourselves with a wonderful amount of extra margin in May because all of our “extra” things ended in April. We’ll embrace a gentle pace for May and include LOTS of outside time while our weather stays mild. Summers in SC get famously hot. 🙂 As usual I wanted to give a run down of what’s new for May. In addition to these activities you can anticipate at least 3 more coming in the next week or so. One of those being May’s Picture Book Parade! This one will be extra fun with a book giveaway connected to the release! More details on that later! For now, here’s a quick look at the new activities for May 2024! May Emergent Readers The best things about these emergent reader books is that each book is personalized just for you!  Some children are ready for more or less than others. Fill in the child’s name

Fizzy Earth Day Fun

Easy, Fizzy, and FUN! This simple activity is lots of fun for kids at all different ages. We did the activity for Earth Day creating globes. I love her creativity!  Materials Needed: + vinegar +baking soda +food coloring  +plate +dropper How to: https://everydaylearnandplay.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/04/336740992af8445fbfd79755af650974.mp4#t=1 Didn’t they turn out fun!? We had such a fun time making them I ended up giving each of my crew their own plate to make their own personal Earth! I hope you enjoy this easy, fizzy, and fun activity!

Screen Free Favorite: Yoto Mini

The Yoto Mini is a must have for families looking for screen free listening! I’m not usually quick on the draw for more pricey items. While the Yoto mini is at a very reasonable price point, it is on the higher end of our average budget for kids’ gifts. I researched it reading blogs and review. Finally last Fall when Amazon ran their big pre-christmas sale I scooped one up for around $60. I was so so excited.  It wasn’t on our daughter’s radar at all. She really hadn’t seen one before but I KNEW she would love it! I was so excited to see her open it up on Christmas and begin to explore all it does.  While I can say it does a lot, I can also say it’s conveniently limited. It does require an internet connection but there is not interfacing with the internet from the yoto player itself. There are very simply 3 buttons and a slot to add a story card. There is one button to turn the player on, one to adjust volume, and one to navigate chapters of a story. It’s that simple!  We purchased the starter pack with the yoto which started
